A 6 story, 696 space parking garage and electrical iinfrastructure upgrades within Hospital to power new garage service.
Project Type: Garage
NBP 316 Parking Garage
Five-story precast parking garage with 1,249 parking spaces.
Cinemark Theatre & Garage
The Towson Square Cinemark Theater is a state of the art 17 theater complex that sits on top of a 3 story, 287 space parking garage. Each theater boasts stadium seating with an elevated VIP seating section. There is also a full service restaurant, bar and grill. This unique design presented many challenges during construction. The position of the building on top of a parking garage required the scissor lifts and heavy equipment be placed through a hole in the side of the building and removed before the exterior was completed. The stadium seating required all of the ceiling work to be completed first before the sloped floors were installed.
Marc Station Garage
The Marc Station Garage is a 4 story, 704 parking space, precast concrete structure that serves as parking for the MARC train commuters. Raceway methods included rigid conduit for branch circuitry distribution. Hirsch Utility installed the secondary conduits and in-ground slab conduits for electrical distribution. This project was the first element for a scheduled series of a $180 million mixed use development to contain office space, retail and housing.
30 Light Street Garage
The 30 Light Street Garage is a 10 story, 560 space, poured in place parking garage with street level retail space. Most of the electrical rough-in was placed in the elevated concrete decks giving the electrical installation a very clean appearance. Due to the retail space on the first floor, a full coverage voice fire alarm system was installed throughout the garage. Hirsch Utility division extended a new primary ductbank to an existing manhole located right in the middle of the Lombard/Charles Street intersection. A new electrical service and manhole were added to refeed the building to remain at the corner of Light and St. Paul streets.
Davis Street Garage
The Davis Street Garage is an eleven story, 1,373 space parking garage constructed of precast concrete. Unusual features included a two hundred foot long light bar located fifty feet above street level. Layout and mounting of the fixtures on the light bar was critical to the proper illumination of the Mercy Hospital Logo and leaf emblems above. Its highly conspicuous location demanded great attention to detail. Further complicating the installation was difficult working height. Also, the public street below had to remain open to allow vehicular traffic to the businesses on Davis Street. The lighting design also mandated that the entire eleven story glass elevator shaft be illuminated. Careful coordination was required between the elevator installer, curtain wall installer and Hirsch Electric.
Eden Street Garage
The Eden Street Garage is a 5 story, 900+ parking space, precast concrete parking garage located in Harbor East neighborhood of Baltimore City. All circuits were installed in rigid conduit. To facilitate the construction of the garage multiple buildings in the area had to receive new electrical services.
NBP 304 Garage
The NBP 304 Garage is a 3 story, 1,234 parking space, precast concrete parking garage that serves the National Business Park campus. Rigid conduit was utilized throughout. Due to the unusual length of the building (720 feet), long runs of PVC conduit were installed under the slab on grade to distribute power efficiently. Hirsch Utility installed the BGE primary and secondary ductbanks.
